Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies GEONALY uses and why. We keep things simple: we only use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the Service. We do not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies inside the application.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, tablet, phone) by your web browser when you visit a website. Cookies allow the site to remember information about your visit, such as your login state or your preferences. They cannot read data from your hard drive or run programs on your device.
2. Which cookies we use
GEONALY uses only strictly necessary cookies. These do not require consent under EU ePrivacy rules because they are essential for the Service to function.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sessionid |
Keeps you logged in across page loads. Issued by Django after authentication. | First-party · essential | 2 weeks (or until logout) |
csrftoken |
Protects forms against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks. | First-party · essential | 1 year |
geonaly_cookie_consent |
Remembers that you have seen and acknowledged the cookie notice so we don't show the banner again. | First-party · essential | 12 months |
3. Third-party cookies
Inside the GEONALY application (dashboard, settings, reports) we do not set any third-party cookies. We do not run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers, or social media widgets inside the app.
Our public marketing page (geonaly.com) may load fonts and the Chart.js library from public CDNs (Google Fonts, jsDelivr). These services may receive your IP address but do not set persistent tracking cookies on our domain.
4. Your choices & consent
Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, no consent is legally required to use them. However, the first time you visit the public site we show a brief notice so you know what is happening. Acknowledging the notice stores geonaly_cookie_consent so we don't show it on every page.
If we ever introduce analytics or marketing cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your explicit consent before setting them.
5. How to manage cookies in your browser
You can clear, block, or restrict cookies at any time directly in your browser settings:
Blocking the sessionid or csrftoken cookies will prevent you from logging in or submitting forms. Other parts of the Service will continue to work in read-only mode.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if our use of cookies changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Material changes will also be communicated via email or an in-app notice.
